Britain has lost a hero of its specialist sports car industry, Graham Nearn. The founder of Caterham Cars and owner of one of the original Lotus dealerships, Graham Nearn passed away on October 24th at age 76. His death was confirmed on Caterham’s Twitter page.

To celebrate the Caterham R500’s achievement of being named Top Gear’s 2008 Car of the Year, LEGOLAND designers have decided to immortalize the Lotus Seven descendant and the Top Gear team.
Fashioned out of LEGO’s trademark plastic bricks, the homage features replicas of the Stig, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May alongside the R500.

In another batch of Lotus Seven related news this week, both Westfield and Caterham have received official certification to sell their models to enthusiasts across Europe.

Diseno-art has revealed their fully-electric “Lotus Electrive” concept, a modern take on the classic Lotus Seven.
While just an artist’s rendering at this point, the concept illustrates how the everlasting Lotus Seven may still find a place in an eventual future without petrol.
