Westfield hopes to crack into continental Europe and revitalize itself with its latest Lotus-Seven-inspired road car, the 1600 Sport Turbo. Like the Irmscher 7 Turbo from earlier this month, the Westfield is powered by a turbocharged Opel/Vauxhall four-cylinder. Irmscher hopes to emulate the success achieved by the 7’s ancestor, the 1957 Lotus Super Seven. I was surfing YouTube and found this clip from the anime movie éX-Driver: The Movie amusing. Prominently featured are a Lotus Seven and Lotus Europa, and at 1:51 you can make out a blue Lotus Esprit. As the latest addition to the rapid Superlight series, the R300 features the 2.0L Duratec Ford motor shared with the even more rapid R500 and R400.
